alrighty! day 4. morning call at 6am, checkout at 6.45am and moved out at 7am. after we crossed the Thailand custom, we settled down at a coffee shop in Malaysia for breakfast. my mom ate laksa, soup meggie mee and now she's queing up for frech toast. she's really upholding her mission. ((:
in Peneng, our itinerary was also lined up with many temple visiting. this is the 1st one.
and the 2nd one.
these temples are just opposite each other or across the street. we didn't burn alot of joysticks this round. but we purchased alot of lotus like candle to offer to the gods and goddesses. we can choose the size of the lotus candle and write our names down before we offer to the gods. the smallest sized candle will last for 1 day and it cost cheaper than the bigger ones, ard 2 to 3 ringgit. bigger sized candle last for 3 days to 1 week and it cost ard 5 to 10 ringgit. sometimes we can choose to buy bricks as a donation for them to build or extend their temples. on the bricks we can also write down our names and where we come from so that we will be blessed by the gods for our charity.
we stop at many food outlet where we can buy goodies back for friends and relatives. this place sells really good 豆沙饼.
my mom bought 2 boxes of 豆沙饼 but those aunties in the same bus bought around 5 or more boxes each. i think their mission for this trip is to spend till the last cent in their wallet. they turned into shopaholics instantly when they enter these kind of food outlet. they couldn't resist or think straight or listen to their husbands advise. all they know is they GOT to buy and buy MORE than other aunties. so it's like a competition of who is richer or they are just stocking up rationing for WW3.
this stop, we are suppose to climb up to the 4th temple. on the way up there are many shops. here we bought alot of clothings for ahma. (:
midway, there's a pond full of turtle! we can buy vegetable at 1 ringgit to feed them and my turtle feeding adventure started! first i got to cross the bridge.
then feed the turtles.
oops! i accidentally hit a turtle's head when i throw the vegetable.
and i'm done feeding. thinking the turtles might miraculously turn into TMNT.
at last, a pose!
now we are high up the hill. the trip up was tiring. like climbing bukit timah.
my mom was simply too elated to feel tired because she can see the gods and goddesses. (:
since we so high up and and scenery is so good. we took pictures!
pictures again! the tour guide said that the stairs that led us up are made of stones donated from china.
now we are down, going to eat the famous peneng laksa. i look so black. black shirt, black jeans, black plastic bag, black herbal tea. HAHAHA!
see the temple behind my mom, we climbed up there just now. pro.
in the end we didn't get to eat the famous peneng laksa because we were the only two who go for the distance just to see the gods and goddesses up up high on top the hill. the rest of the aunties and uncles stop half way and u-turned back for peneng laksa. i suspect at the turtle feeding stop. irregardless, the tour guide said we can still get to taste penang laksa during dinner time. oh yay!
we were somewhere near our dinner place. behide me is a river or sea i don't know but i know it's low tide.
we had dinner at a place that looks like newton circle. here we can try alot of local delicacy like their penang laksa, white char koay teow, cuttle fish, seafood, etc etc...
after dinner, we check into hotel grand continental. we didn't go out for any more shopping. my mom and i watched puah chu kang made in malaysia in our room, laugh alot and slept like a pig afterwards. day 5 will be the last day (:
