* this fanfic assumes that tobias is NOT married and is still a very single, available, rich, young and famous lecturer in UOL. and me is me.
it was 3.59am. every single soul in my block is sleeping soundly. a minute was gone and my grandfather clock struck 4.00am.
"ring.. ring.. ring.." my cellphone rang. it was impossible. no one has ever call me that early. immediately i was awaken by the stupid ringtone and i picked up my phone.
"hello...?" i answered grouchily.
"HELLO GOOD MORNING!" a male voice fulled of spirit greeted me.
"erhhh.......who's this?" i frowned thinking it might just be another lunatic or con shit calling.
"it's TOBIAS your ME revision lecturer! i was running thru the list of attendance and i've randomly picked a name....." he was speaking so fast and my brain is still in sleep mode so i couldn't register much.
"........so what's price elasticity?" tobias asked.
"what....?" i asked back.
"what's price elasticity? you ARE suppose to know it and i told the class i might just call at 4am in the morning to check on you guys," he laughed.
"ohhhh....i can't think now... " but i was feeling a little awake.
"alright then, maybe i should ask you something more current. what's good about being a monopoly or having a competition market?"
"are you serious? why ain't you sleeping now?"
"what's good about being a monopoly or having a competition market?" he repeated with patients.
"did you have 4 shots of espresso today?"
"no i had my usual..." he replied me but i sensed some doubt in his speech.
"then you ate too many bowls of laksa?"
"HAHA not funny. are you going to answer my question or not" he insisted
"wait give me a minute....i think......that monopoly price higher without competition. with competition prices will fall so it's better to have competitions in the market. but monopoly yields a higher profit...does that answer your question?"
"that's...., not even close to correct." he chuckled
"AHAHA not funny. what do you want professor?"
there was a long pulse
"do you erh. want to go for a drink?" he asked
"erm.. are you sure it's not the laksa?"
to be or not to be continued.
