the Deathly Confession
"i have sinned," i recited in my heart. squeezing my eyes shut from the scotching noon sun. the ozone is breaking down. my mind a blur of metal and green. my slipper is blistering my foot. every step is a challenge of the right footwork. i placed my plum over my eyebrows and frown down. thinking of why am i me. me in this somehow wicked world facing shiety business and doing it anyways. "oh god. save the world and then save me. i am terrified of the many coming fateful days."
